SCHEDULE, RULES AND REGULATIONS

December 14-17, 2023

LOCATION:  RIO ALL-SUITE HOTEL & CASINO in the Amazon Suite

 

PLEASE NOTE:

It is our goal to make your experience at our events as smooth as possible. If you register your child after the closing date there will be a $20.00 late registration fee on site.  A digital entry form will be available for you, bring with your child's birth certificate to check in at the event.  All contestants must provide their birth certificates or USTRC Jr. Looper card in order to compete. There will be no exceptions.

 

AGE CATEGORIES WCDR:

Ages 6 & Under:  3 legal head catches, one helper allowed on stage. Each contestant will get three loops in the preliminary round and if they catch all three they will return for the finals.

NO FISHING ALLOWED

 

Ages 7-9:  Each contestant will get three loops in the preliminary round and if they catch all three they will advance to the finals. See schedule above.

NO FISHING ALLOWED

Judges may go to slick horns if needed.

 

Ages 10-12:  Each contestant will get three loops in the preliminary round and if they catch all three they will advance to the finals.

Judges may go to slick horns if needed.

 

AGE CATEGORIES ALL GIRL DUMMY ROPING:

 

Ages 8 & Under:  Each contestant will get three loops in the preliminary round and if they catch all three they will advance to the finals.

Ages 9-12:  Each contestant will get three loops in the preliminary round and if they catch all three they will advance to the finals.

Rules & Regulations

  • NO ROPES OVER 36 ft WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE USED, IN ANY EVENT OR AGE GROUP.

  • FREE online registration for both events.  If you register your child after online entries close, there will be a $20.00 cash registration fee on site.  Digital entry will be available for you, bring with your child's birth certificate to check in at the event.

  • Age group is determined based on the contestants age the DAY of competition

  • (Birth Certificate or USTRC Jr. Looper card MUST BE PROVIDED AS PROOF)

  • Contest will consist of three rounds.

  • No line, contestants who catch all three will rope in the Sudden Death Finals for the Main Awards. A line will be marked and the reach contest will begin.

  • Judges may go to slick horns if needed

  • As always, Judges decision will be FINAL. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

 

  • Must Bring Jr. Looper Card or Copy of birth Certificate to the event

  • The WCDR Holds THREE Age Group Competitions. 6 & Under, 7-9 & 10-12

  • Junior Loopers MAY NOT enter below their age division

  • No Junior Looper may win more than 1 buckle in a USTRC Sanctioned season at USTCRC Sanctioned events (National Finals & WCDR Excluded). Season is defined as those events between November 1 and October 1 of any year.

  • Any Junior Looper that has ever won a USTRC Trophy Saddle or Junior Looper Trophy Saddle will not be eligible to compete at the USTRC Finals in the Jr. Looper Ropings.

 

Keep in mind the WCDR & The Junior Looper Program is a free program developed for the youth in the sport of team roping. The Staff appointed Conductor(s) of the roping will ensure to the best of their ability that the event is conducted fairly.  Please comply with the requests and suggestions of the Conductor(s) of the event.  Junior Looper parents are invited to watch , but NOT participate.
